For Parents and Families
Families often notice when something doesn't seem right. Trust your instincts and seek support early. If your child is struggling emotionally, experiencing behavioral changes, or recovering from a concussion, talking with a healthcare professional can help.
What Every Parent Should Know About Concussions
Download our family guide in English and Spanish to help recognize emotional and behavioral changes after a concussion and know when to seek support.
Need Mental Health Support but Can’t Afford It?
Cost or insurance limitations should not prevent a student-athlete from receiving mental health support.
Alyssa’s Light connects student-athletes and their families with licensed psychologists who offer pro bono services. Support may be available for student-athletes experiencing emotional or mental health challenges related to a concussion, injury, time away from sports, or another difficult experience.
Reach out to us, and we will help connect you with a participating psychologist based on provider availability.
Please do not include private medical information in your initial message. Alyssa’s Light connects families with independent licensed professionals and does not provide treatment directly.

A Message from Alyssa's Light
Alyssa's story reminds us how important it is to talk openly about mental health, brain health, and asking for help when it is needed.
No family should have to navigate these challenges alone.
Hope is always available. Help is always available.
